Lorna's mother, Florence went to school through 8th grade at a one room school south of Clarks Grove, Minnesota, about a mile north of the farm they lived on. The teacher was Miss Alpha Jensen. Also attending the school at the the same time was her sister, Edna and brothers, Phil and Harold. As it was a very small school the children were grouped together. While Phil was older, Florence, Edna and Harold were put into the same class.

1931, 7th grade - Edna and Florence are the back row, Florence just peeking over the top. I can't pick out Harold for certain, possibly second row from top on the left end. |

A post card from 1932 , 8th grade. Florence is in the back row on our left, Edna in the back center. Harold is the center of the front row. |

Gunnar,
I really like what you are doing with the blog. Keep up the good work!
Edna, Florence and Harold were born about a year apart. Edna had scarlet fever and missed a year, while Harold was very smart so he skipped a grade. All three graduated from high school together.
BTW: I think that your background is a photo of a threshing crew, but I cannot remember. Do you know any more about this. I know that I had this photo in my dorm room about forty years ago.
Kurt
I'll post a full picture of the threshing crew later, along with a short story.
Also, Harold's son, Bob went to the same school and he skipped a grade too. He may even have had the same teacher?
